How money moves safely through ConnectaHub
When you pay for something on ConnectaHub — a trip booking, an event ticket, a vendor deposit — that money doesn't go straight into the vendor's pocket. It's held in escrow first.
Every successful charge creates an escrow hold against the specific vendor or event organizer who's owed that money. The hold exists so a payment is provably tied to a real transaction and sits somewhere auditable rather than being spent immediately. A hold only becomes eligible for payout once a fixed 7-day window has passed since it was created — a deliberate pause, not a delay bug, giving a cancellation or a dispute time to surface before the money moves any further.
Once a hold clears that window, our staff can run a payout batch that pays eligible vendors and organizers. Every payout carries a flat 10% platform commission — the same rate for every payee and every kind of booking, with no hidden or variable fees — and the remaining 90% lands as a credit in the payee's own ConnectaHub wallet, ready to spend or eventually withdraw. Before anything is paid out, the amount is reconciled against the original charge; if the numbers don't match, that money is held back and flagged for a staff member to look into rather than paid out regardless.
Right now, payouts land in a ConnectaHub wallet rather than a bank account, and every batch is run manually by our team rather than on an automatic schedule. Both are deliberate, honestly-scoped starting points — not the finished picture, but a real, working, auditable one.
